Background
Since 2013, Youth Action has hosted the NSW Youth Work Awards, an
annual celebration of the exceptional work of youth services and youth workers across NSW. The Awards will be held as part of Listen, Learn, & Celebrate NSW Youth Work Conference at the Australian Theatre for Young People’s beautiful venue on Sydney Harbour on Thursday 26 October from 6-9pm.
Nominating an individual, program or service is a way for you to publicly highlight their outstanding achievements with young people. This year we are very excited to have a new Award category “Outstanding Therapeutic Residential Care Team” sponsored by the Centre for Excellence in Therapeutic Care. Award winners receive a cash prize.
Awards are judged by an independent panel of young people, youth sector, and Youth Action representatives. The panel will judge winners based on how well the nominee meets the criteria outlined below for each category. Try and give as much information as you can in your responses as this will help the judges with their decision making.
The categories for the NSW Youth Work Awards 2023 are:
- Outstanding Work with Young People from Diverse Cultures, Backgrounds, Experiences (an organisation, program or service)
- Outstanding Work with First Nations Young People (an organisation, program or service)
- Outstanding Work with Regional Young People (an organisation, program or service)
- Outstanding Youth Participation (an organisation, program or service)
