Who can be nominated?

Any individual, group or organisation, which has a focus on supporting young people and can demonstrate evidence of achieving outstanding outcomes for young people in NSW.

Who can submit a nomination?

Any individual, group or organisation can nominate an individual, group or organisation for a NSW  Youth Work Award in any of the categories.

An independent referee is required for all nominations. Please ensure that the independent referee is aware that you have put their name forward and is available to provide information about your nomination. Where a group or organisation is nominated, the independent referee cannot be an employee or member of that group or organisation.

How do I nominate somebody?

To submit a nomination, complete the online nomination form by  Sunday 24 September. Nominations will not be accepted after this time.

What are the application questions?

For each nomination for a NSW Youth Work Award, you will need to include the following information:

  • Nominator contact information (name, organisation, email, phone) 2.Nominee contact information (name, organisation, email, phone)
  • A little information about the nominee (~250 words)
  • How the nominee meets the award criteria (~250 words)
  • Independent Referee contact information (name, organisation, email, phone).

Do nominees have to attend the Awards?

The awards ceremony is a chance to recognise all great contributions to youth work, not only the winners. If you nominate someone for an award, invite them to the awards ceremony, so they can be a part of the celebration.

When will nominees be notified?

Each nominee will be notified after the nomination deadline. Youth Action will invite them along to the NSW Youth Work Award ceremony.

How will the award recipients be selected?

An independent selection panel will be formed. The panel will review all nominations against the award criteria and make a selection.

Who will be on the selection panel?

Panelists will be selected from Youth Action’s members and partners, and will not be associated with any of the organisations, groups or individuals being nominated. The panel will include at least:

  • One young person
  • One youth worker
  • One representative of another peak body or a Youth Action partner organisation
